Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Mithica mobile app (the “App”). The App is made by Thrive Studio, powered by SignCoders, and operated by SignCoders Kft. (registered seat: 1072 Budapest, Klauzál utca 30, 1st floor, U/1, Hungary; tax number: 27902307-2-42; email: hello@thrive-studio.io; “we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.
1. What Mithica is
Mithica is a tarot app for self-reflection: you draw three cards for your past, present and future, read their interpretations, save your readings and can get a reminder when your next reading is available.
For entertainment and self-reflection only. Cards are drawn at random, and the interpretations are general texts. A reading is not a prediction of the future and is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or any other professional advice. Please don’t base important decisions on a reading alone. If you are in crisis or need help, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional.
2. Who can use the App
You must be at least 16 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to use the App.
3. Free readings and subscriptions
- Free: you can use the App for free with one reading a day. Your reading balance recharges over time.
- Subscriptions: Medium gives you three readings a day, Magician unlimited readings. Both are monthly, auto-renewing subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The current price is shown in the App before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
- Automatic renewal: your subscription renews every month unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings (in the App: Settings → Subscriptions). You keep your benefits until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Changing plans: upgrades and downgrades are handled by the store, under its rules on timing and price adjustments.
- Free trials: if a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. This does not affect your statutory rights.
- Price changes are announced in advance through the store, as its rules require.
- Your reading balance has no monetary value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
4. Licence and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for non-commercial purposes, in line with the rules of the store you downloaded it from. You may not:
- copy, modify, sell or redistribute the App or its content;
- reverse engineer the App, except where the law allows it;
- bypass the reading limits or the subscription system;
- use the App in a way that breaks the law or harms the App or other people.
5. Intellectual property
The App, its texts, card illustrations, design and code belong to us or our licensors. You may share images of your own readings for personal, non-commercial purposes.
6. Your readings are stored on your device
Your nickname and saved readings are stored only on your device; we have no copy of them. They are lost if you uninstall the App or change devices, and we cannot restore them.
7. Privacy
How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes and availability
We may change, add or remove features, and we may update the App or stop offering it. If we stop offering a paid feature, we will give you reasonable notice. The App is provided “as is”, and we don’t guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on readings. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health), and nothing affects your mandatory rights as a consumer.
10. App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for it or for any claims relating to it (including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance and intellectual property claims). If the App does not conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
If you downloaded the App from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will tell you about material changes in the App or on this page. If you continue to use the App after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Hungarian law. Disputes are decided by the competent Hungarian courts. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
